January BOOKS!

I have missed blogging but goodness, I've missed recapping my books! I LOVE a good book and reading other blogger's book reviews. I was blogging at jack1119.blogspot.com but it was so old I couldn't change anything. Haha! So hello new blog!! I'm going to try to keep up with my guys (and books) on here and link up with some other blogs when I can.

Here is the beginning of my 2021 Book List!

Return to Virgin River by Robyn Carr

More Virgin River? Yes, please!  I've read all of the books and watched most of the Netflix series. It's just down right good.

Cancel the Wedding by Carolyn T. Dingman

Y'all. This book has been on my "to read list" for several years. I finally asked for it this past Christmas. I couldn't wait to read it and it didn't disappoint. It was so good. GoodReads gives this description -"Cancel the Wedding follows one woman’s journey to discover the secrets of her mother’s hidden past—and confront her own uncertain future."

Kiss My Cupcake by Helena Hunting

This was just down right cute. Here's what GoodReads has to say - "From axe throwing (his place) to frosting contests (hers), Blaire and Ronan are constantly trying to one-up each other in a battle to win new customers." These two go back and forth with each other and it's adorable to watch Blaire get so frustrated as Ronan pushes her buttons.

Invisible Girl by Lisa Jewell

This was pretty good but kinda strange. It's about a 17 year old girl (who has lots of childhood trauma)  who goes missing and there are plenty of creepy suspects to check out. This was a page turner for sure since I wanted to know what happened to her.

Rushing In by Claire Kingsley

This was a free kindle book and it was fairly good. It's #4 in a series but I'm not sure I'll go back and read the first 3 books. Here's a note from the author on GoodReads -  "The wild child of the Bailey clan meets his match in a shy writer who’s braver than she thinks. A sexy, feel-good story with pranks and shenanigans, Bailey-style brotherly love, a rescue kitten, plus delightfully dirty fantasies come true and a happily ever after that will make your heart burst with sunshine and rainbows."

Twice in a Blue Moon by Christina Lauren

This is another book that's been on my list to read for a while. Once I finally buy it I see it's free with Kindle Unlimited. Ugh...I liked this book but didn't love it.  It's about a young, American couple that meets while on vacation in London. They fall in love and then they vacation ends abruptly. They meet again 14 years later while working.  This book missed the witty dialogue and hilarious moments from the other Christina Lauren books I've read.

A Little Mountain Trip

Maggie Valley, NC is such a fun place to visit. It's a neat town with a laid back feel. It's like you can go there to take a deep breath and relax.

This was the first trip where snow was involved. Well - snow and ICE. We had a great view of the mountains while we were stuck in a ditch up close to the top of the mountain. We hit a patch of ice and slide backwards into a ditch towards the mountain. Praise God we didn't go off the other side!  Thank goodness for the little mountain man and his side kick for getting us out! After we got back down the mountain the rental agency had a cabin lower down the mountain that didn't need 4 wheel drive to reach. I was so happy we didn't have to go back to the top to get to a cabin!

It was snowing a little the next morning so we bundled up and headed out to play. We all had fun walking around and playing. Little did we know it would snow all day!

Throwing snow balls was so much fun for them. Jackson liked to hit everyone and then he started climbing up the mountain. And then that's all he wanted to do. Climb up a mountain covered in snow. That's sounds super safe! UGH!

And Carter smacked me right in the face with a huge snow ball. Haha! He had so much fun. He was filthy from all the rolling around and climbing. Leave it to him to get nasty from playing in snow! Seriously he had FUN and that's all that matters to me. :)

Miles threw his fair share of snow but this boy wanted to roll around in it. Every time I looked at him he was on his stomach in the snow.

After a long morning of playing (climbing) we went in to warm up and watched it snow.

After lunch we went back out and it was a winter wonderland. Snow had covered the roads and it was so pretty!

I had to prove we were there too!

We walked and played forever on this road. It was so much fun exploring!

Could this view every get old? I mean if we had 4 wheel drive and didn't have to leave the house I would have loved it more!

The BIG TEN!

Happy Birthday!

It is so hard to believe that Miles and Carter turned TEN on January 7th! They are complete opposites in lots things but they both love BIG!
